New Garden!

Our amazing new fence has been put up to create our very own fantastic garden!

This is a working progress, and we hope to start growing vegetables and planting very soon.

It will create loads of amazing learning opportunities for your child.

Food and Drink

We will provide your child with drinks of milk and/or water at snack times.

We are not able to provide children with squash.

When making your child’s lunch, please be mindful of the fact their stomach is the size of their fist! Smaller portions are best.

Speak to staff for any advice on the above.

Safeguarding

  • If your child arrives at pre-school with an existing injury, please talk to a member of staff & fill in the ‘Bump Book’.
  • If anyone else is going to collect your child, please inform the member of staff on “door duty” who will record the information in the Arrivals/Departures File and arrange a password.

This all may seem very bureaucratic but is required under Health and Safety procedures and is, of course, for your child’s protection.  Please also remember to tell us of any changes in telephone numbers, emergency contacts etc. so that we can keep our records up to date.

Changes!

We are pleased to welcome Oriel Baker to our team! She is going to be completing her Level 2 Apprenticeship with us and is full of fresh, new  ideas! We hope you join us in supporting her on her journey.

Cost Increase

As mentioned prior to the holidays, our hourly rate has now increased to £6.00 for 3 and 4 year olds who exceed their funded hours and £6.25 for all 2 year olds.

Thank you for your understanding.

Concessional charge

We will also be sending a termly invoice of £20.00 to cover the costs of snack, crafts, cooking and other concessions.

Please speak to Mrs baker if you have any concerns/ issues with payment.

Important reminders

Do not send your child in if they have taken any paracetamol/ibuprofen-based medicines prior to their session.

All medicines must be prescribed by the doctor and labelled e.g. inhalers/antibiotics.

A reminder about illnesses…

Please remember that, although coughs and colds are part of everyday life, children should not attend pre-school if they are obviously unwell.

It is our policy that a clear 48 hours must be allowed before children return if they have suffered from sickness and/or diarrhoea. This is for the sake of everyone!

Changes to Key Person Groups.

This year some children might have a new key person. This is due to the new intake and the days on which staff and children attend.

Please remember the role of the key person is vital in your child’s development and therefore all the staff will maintain a positive relationship with you. We are all here to talk to you at any time.

Christmas Events!

The children will be creating their own Christmas cards again this year using the company Cauliflower Cards after their success last year.

Nativity Play

We are hoping this will go ahead this year without any COVID or other illness!

CLOTHING/FOOTWEAR

Please supply a change of clothes for your child at each session. (We will, of course, have spare clothing for emergencies!) and please remember to send wet weather clothing, as appropriate, as we always take every opportunity to play outside.

Please put your child’s name in their coat/body warmer/shoes etc. This will avoid any unfortunate mix-ups if there are 2 or a pair the same!

AND FINALLY……

Please remember to read any letters, handouts, etc. that come home – or visit our Facebook page/ website, where Mrs. Baker can be contacted at any time. We try very hard to make sure that we keep you informed but we need you to do your bit!  If you have any problems, questions, or need clarification of anything –   PLEASE ask.

Suggestions are always very welcome as well!

We hope that everyone has a very enjoyable term.
